- Are you a software company?
Yes. However, HTP's software is typically delivered as a component of our services. We develop software for the healthcare industry that improves efficiency, profitability and service quality for hospitals, physician groups, health insurance companies and public sector health plans. The company's software also enables secure information exchange through Regional Health Information Organizations (RHIOs).
- Are you a clearinghouse?
Clearinghouses traditionally move data from one place to another, typically adding minimal value or no analytical component to the movement of that data. They also traditionally charge a per "click" fee for each transaction. One of HTP's pricing structures is a standard flat-fee pricing model, allowing you to do unlimited insurance eligibility verification transactions at the same monthly fee. HTP also incorporates business process intelligence into the movement of the data to pull valuable information out and deliver it to the customer in a normalized, consistent manner. HTP will play the role of clearinghouse in order to obtain access to data for our clients. Many payers want to deal only with clearinghouses and not single healthcare providers. HTP will assume this role to economically provide access to data. HTP also serves this role in accessing other services for our customers like patient identification, credit history and banking transactions.
- Do you automate patient access functions?
Yes. In most hospitals today, the revenue management process is back-end focused. In other words, Patient Access and PFS organizations focus on being reactive in getting claims paid from payers and patients alike using manually intensive processes which rely on phone calls, faxes and people reacting to issues that arise, in many cases weeks and even months after the service has been provided to the patient. HTP RevRunner is focused on bringing patient and payer reimbursement processes to the front-end of the revenue cycle. This allows for providers to verify insurance coverage, confirm patient demographics, determine a patient’s ability-to-pay and collect a material patient payment BEFORE they arrive at your facility.
- How does HTP RevRunner integrate with my current HIS system?
HTP has integrated HTP RevRunner with most of the leading HIS vendors, including some of the smaller ones. Our HTP ConnectTM product supports real time integration using a variety of technical integration platforms including HL7, native 270 transactions and ad hoc files at the time of registration and in batch. The flexibility of our HTP Connect software architecture allows for integration of data in and out of HIS systems, including those that are historically difficult to work with. In most cases, the integration can be done in a few weeks, with minimal demand on your IT staff.
- Are you connected to (XYZ) payer?
HTP is currently connected to over 400+ payers. Please contact us on any particular payer of interest to you. In addition, HTP will actively pursue and recruit payers on your behalf that you would like to connect with. This is a value-added service, provided for no additional charge in most cases.
- Can HTP help us meet pricing transparency mandates?
Yes. In fact, HTP can help you turn these mandates into improved reimbursement and greater up-front cash collection by taking it much further than simply publishing a price list of your most popular services. By using HTP RevRunner to automatically estimate charges and uncover potential revenue sources, at or before the point of service, hospitals see immediate financial gains and keep patients informed of their payment responsibility. Depending upon the patient's ability to pay, hospitals can collect from the patient via electronic cashiering, assist the patient in applying for government or charity programs or set up an appropriate payment schedule.
- Are you a RHIO?
No. But HTP builds the software technology platform that makes RHIOs possible. The HTP RHIO product is the most complete network solution for electronic health information exchange. It offers a single, secure connection point to exchange clinical and administrative data directly, in real time. HTP technology is at the core of the Utah Health Information Network (UHIN), a non-profit organization that provides secure, electronic information exchange connecting every payer and nearly every healthcare provider in the state of Utah. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has recognized UHIN as the nation's first successful Regional Health Information Organization (RHIO).
- Do you support clinical data?
Yes. HTP's focus is on using administrative data to fill medical record gaps in situations where a physician does not yet have an Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Administrative data does not provide the clinical specificity produced from an EMR, but does provide enough history for a physician to improve the collection of medical history from the patient. Payers records track the healthcare providers a patient has seen, and the medication prescriptions that have been filled by a pharmacy. Many payers also store the lab results that have been received from a contracted lab. This simple data when used in the context of ensuring medical record accuracy, can save costs and lives.
- Do you have a Master Patient Index (MPI)?
No. HTP does not provide a Master Patient Index. However, HTP does provide technology to support the cleansing and accuracy of the demographic data that is the core foundation of the MPI. Ensuring consistent accurate demographic data is the only way to be sure that medical history is collected and filed under the proper patient.
